As a UI/UX designer, I independently handled the design of the Mimicle application, and joined in the Mimicle design department to create the necessary graphic elements within the app. The project focused on improving and enhancing functionality from the issues of the existing beta version website to maximize the user experiences on the application. As a graphic designer, I designed 144 emojis and visual elements.

About Mimicle

Mimicle is a service that interprets your hidden feelings in pictures together. It utilizes the vast data processing algorithm of its own artificial intelligence "Mimi Cortex" for more sophisticated analysis, and sometimes it is helped by the intuition and experience of art therapy experts "MimicAT."

Beta Version Experience

Main three features in the Mimicle Web Beta version are Open Gallery where you can share your pictures with others, Select Theme before you draw, and Monthly Report where you can get expert analysis statistics on paintings.

Open Gallery
Allow you to share your paintings with others and leave comments while watching other drawing video of pictures. However, the monotonous structure and inconsistent icons confuse new users.
Select Theme
Do you draw without a topic? You can draw pictures without worrying about today's theme that is presented differently every day. However, the monotonous color and survey-feeling UI give users a boring experience.

Monthly Report
It informs you of the results of the overall analysis of my painting psychology that changes from time to time. Through this, we can understand my average psychology and improve shortcomings. But Wordy UI is not intuitive and difficult to understand.

Potential Users

Selected the target user group(C) as who like drawing and need quick and low-barrier psychological counseling. And divided the user target groups more specifically according to their characteristics. Current users are largely divided into two categories (A) and (B). (A) is child who love drawing picture and parents who want psychological information about that. (B) is who does not want professional psychological information, but enjoys drawing. We need to engage group (C) to attract.

User Research

For objective usability testing, recruited five people who had never used the Mimicle Beta service. In this process, tested three of the key features described above. Each participant took a total of 26 minutes.

Usability Testing

As a result, I was able to get the table below. This table shows three operations with very high error rates. Number 1 is Find a topic and draw a picture, number 2 is Find a picture and leave a comment, and number 3 is Find monthly analysis information. Improved usability helped prioritize functions that were urgent.

Each time swipe the theme card, changes the background color to make it fun for the user. Try to eliminate the confusion felt by users in the beta version by adding a topic search function and a topicless drawing function.

Montly Report

The monthly report is a service that allows you to receive monthly analysis by statistics of experts on the paintings you draw. It consists of four things: Daily OCEANS, Tide of your Drawing, Drawings of the month, Characteristic of My Likes
